I have just returned from a few days in Stockholm, where I grew up.
The weather was glorious. The sun bathed the city in magnificent light all weekend long and made it unseasonably warm. Being able to enjoy a curb-side coffee and cardamom bun at the start of October there without your fingers going blue was an added bonus.
But you can tell autumn is on its way. This was particularly evident on a stomp through the forest which was ablaze with colour. It felt as if nature had mustered up one final fist-pump of reds before retreating into its winter shroud.
In my jewellery I am usually sparse in the use of colour. But what I saw inspired me nonetheless.
And I know I’ll be going back through these images come the dark winter days. I try to capture beauty where I find it and let it light my path.
