Inevitably, the run-up to any exhibition will result in some stress along the way. And it is fair to say that a great deal of chiselling has preceded today.
In fact, one of my fellow exhibitors noted how the amount of polishing she’s been doing has resulted in the fingerprint recognition lock on her mobile no longer working! Presumably Apple didn’t test this particular technology on makers of jewellery.
But as the doors to Flo: The Jewellery Edit 2016 at Craft Central swung open this morning, those minor little headaches evaporated into the Clerkenwell air like last night’s Halloween ghouls, leaving only excitement in their wake.
From today until 6 November I’m exhibiting new designs in the gallery alongside work by my studio mates.
Of course it is always interesting to see how new work is received. My latest pieces, a series of silver and gold earrings, rings and necklaces, came to life during my extended stay in Sweden this summer. In these, I have attempted to capture the beauty of a fleeting moment into something that can be worn and loved forever.
If forever seems like too much of a big statement, did I mention they make great Christmas presents too?
I look forward to welcoming you to Craft Central this week. Please see below for some more of the work on display, along with exhibition address details and opening times.
